Eligibility
Players must be at least 16 by September 12, 2026. Each roster must contain 3–5 players. Players ages 16–17 require committee approval and a parent- or guardian-signed event waiver before participating.
Physical activity and assumption of risk
Basketball and attendance at an athletic event involve inherent risks, including falls, collisions, overexertion, heat exposure, equipment or facility hazards, illness, serious injury, disability, and death. Each participant is responsible for deciding, with appropriate medical advice when needed, whether they are fit to participate. By choosing to participate, each player knowingly accepts the inherent risks that cannot be eliminated without changing the nature of the activity.
Safety and medical response
Participants must follow venue rules, officials’ instructions, and reasonable safety directions. A player must stop participating and notify event staff if injured or ill. If a participant cannot provide consent in an emergency, event personnel may seek reasonable emergency assistance. Participants remain responsible for their own medical and insurance costs to the extent permitted by law.
Required individual waiver
The captain’s online acknowledgment confirms that the captain reviewed these terms and will ensure each player completes any individual release, waiver, emergency-contact, or guardian form required by the organizers. A captain does not waive another player’s rights merely by submitting the team registration.
Removal and event changes
The organizers may stop a player from participating or remove a team for safety concerns, ineligibility, nonpayment, misconduct, inaccurate information, or failure to complete required documents. Games, schedules, divisions, and venue arrangements may change because of weather, facility needs, safety, or circumstances outside the organizers’ reasonable control.
